The 2006 Royal Easter Show

2006

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is one of my favourite annual destinations but somehow I’m not completely satisfied the last few years.

You know… I’ve been going to the “Show” since I was five and now I take my own children to see the extravaganza but waiting around between entertainment bugs me. Young kids will only behave for so long before they become tired and frustrated. And I don’t want to be travelling around Sydney on the trains after dark without a gun to protect my family from all the dickheads.

Daytime is the best time for young kids and we really did enjoy the show but... I didn’t get to see Russell Crowe, Richard Clapton or Alex Lloyd. I did get to see wannabe’s but who cares about them? My favourite part was when the police band came out and during their performance, someone on the other side of the NAB Arena from me yelled out “Nerds… … F’N Nerds!!” really loud so that I think everyone heard. At least me and my daughter thought it was funny. The farm animals are always great to compare while the wood chopping is cool… I didn’t get to see any rodeo though. The cannonball chick Stephanie Havens flies alright but should soar twice at a time to really please the crowd. At least the Holden Stormriders never disappoint nor do the Freestyle MotoX… they’re just great.

Anyway… I’m not really disappointed but I wish the organisers would just make things tighter.

Bullshit Bill.
