I’ve been to many old ‘hot rod” shows…
… I remember wondering whether the cars had any ‘go’ to match their looks.
At the drags I’ve found a better car show…
At the drags the hot rods line up at the grid and prove they’ve got more than just looks.
The amount of money spent on those cars is enough to buy a house in the North Shore somewhere, while spectacular crashes mean more money on paint and parts.
I’ve asked around about why people like drag racing so much…
Stevo’s missus Dearne reckons that the rush is addictive when you take off from the grid and so explains that this is the reason that they love the sport so much.
Dragsters are “hot rods” that prove it!
The cars perform what they were made to while the paint jobs can run into the tens of thousands of dollars… I’ve seen them throw good money away in grand smashes.
They just do it for love… all of them.
Any sport that can hold onto itself just by sheer determination, has to have merit.
Stevo’s got a beautiful paintjob in a Charlotte’s Web theme while he’s willing to place a sponsors name straight over it if the sponsor offered any decent amount of money.
I hope a good sponsor would afford enough money to re-paint around Charlotte.
We’ll soon see how it goes.
